North Highlands Responds to Structure Fire

April 20, 2010

At approximately 10:35 pm on April 20, 2010 the North Highlands Fire Department was dispatched for a possible structure on Route 9 near Lady Blue Devil Lane.

Arriving on scene first was 2nd Asst Chief Christopher Hyatt. He immediately advised he had a working fire at Wing It at the corner of Route 9 and Horton Road and a second alarm was requested by North Highlands Fire Chief Joseph Hyatt. A second alarm brings in additional personal and equipment from Cold Spring, Garrison, Village of Fishkill, Rombout, Glenham, and Hughsonville fire departments. Also assisting was the Philipstown Ambulance Corps and the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team.

The fire was quickly knocked down and under control within 20 minutes and fire damage was limited to the roof and walk in cooler. The rest of the building suffered smoke and water damage.

All units were back in service by 1:30am after an investigation by the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team.
