North Highlands Fire Get New Polaris Ranger
September 7th, 2010
The North Highlands Fire Department has put into service its new 2011 Polaris Ranger 6X6.
The Ranger is used by firefighters to assist them at brush fire and Mountain rescues. The Fire Department has several thousand acres of NYS land which is used by hikers from all over the state. They are drawn in great numbers to the Hudson Highlands State Park and Clarence Fahnestock State Park. Each year the Fire Department responds to several hiker emergencies deep into the woods. This vehicle will make the rescue of these patients much safer and easier for the Volunteers.
