| **** ELEVATOR RESCUE - NORTH HIGHLANDS ****
On Sunday, June 14th, at 1:41PM, North Highlands Engine Co#1 was dispatched for occupants stuck in an elevator at Maggazino Italian Art-2700 Route 9, with no medical emergency.
Upon arrival, crews quickly assessed the situation, established communication with those inside, and safely assisted all four individuals from the elevator.
We are happy to report that everyone was safely removed without injury and remained in a non-medical emergency situation.
Incidents like these serve as a reminder that while being stuck in an elevator can be unsettling, elevators are designed with multiple safety features. If you ever find yourself trapped in an elevator:
✔️ Remain calm
✔️ Use the emergency call button or phone if working and available, or your cell phone
✔️ Do not attempt to force the doors open or exit on your own
✔️ Wait for trained personnel to assist you
