North Highlands Fire Department Continues Driver Training and Water Supply Drills |
| June 29, 2026 | |
| Training is an essential part of keeping our members prepared for any emergency, and this week the members of the North Highlands Fire Department spent Sunday morning sharpening some of the most important skills on the fireground. Crews focused on Dry hydrant operations and drafting techniques, giving members hands-on experience establishing reliable water supplies under different conditions. Firefighters also practiced connecting to fire hydrants quickly and efficiently, while also reviewing drafting operations from static water sources to ensure they are ready when hydrants are unavailable. At the same time, several of our newest apparatus operators received valuable behind-the-wheel experience. Under the guidance of experienced driver/operators, they practiced safely positioning fire apparatus, operating pumps, and becoming familiar with the responsibilities that come with driving emergency vehicles. Regular training like this helps ensure our firefighters remain confident, capable, and prepared to serve our community whenever the call comes in. We thank all of our members who dedicated their time to making this training a success and for their continued commitment to protecting the residents of our fire district. |
